The patroness of Pacentro is Our Lady of Mercy (Madonna della Misericordia), celebrated on 8 May; the town has the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Misericordia.
Between the end of July and the beginning of August the historical re-enactment of the «marriage of the Caldoreschi» takes place, a medieval re-enactment begun in the 1990s to revive the centre and history of Pacentro: it lasts a week, with cultural and folkloric routes through medieval popular traditions, up to the final event of the wedding of the condottiero Jacopo Caldora with Medea d'Evoli, countess of Trivento, at the castle.
