The patron saint of Giulianova is Saint Flavian, Patriarch of Constantinople and martyr, celebrated on 22 April in the Duomo di San Flaviano. The town's co-patron is Holy Mary of the Splendour, venerated in the sanctuary of the same name and celebrated on 24 November.
Since 1912, the important feast of the Portosalvo has been celebrated every August, whose highlight, since 1936, has been a crowded maritime procession setting out from the harbour basin. Since the year 2000 the town has also hosted the International Festival of Marching Bands, among the most prestigious of its kind, with bands in costume parading on the belvedere terrace.
