The patron saint of Cirigliano is Saint James, celebrated on 25 July.
About two kilometres from the town, amid green olive groves and vineyards, lies a grotto dedicated to the Madonna, carved into the living rock by a repentant bandit. At the centre of the town stands the ancient feudal castle, with its striking oval tower and the attached chapel of the Addolorata, which holds a 17th-century Pietà set on a decorated wooden aedicule: the stronghold, bought by the Coppola family from the Iannellis family in 1595 for 13,000 ducats, later passed in 1750 to the Formica barons, who still own it today. Between the mother church and the castle winds the charming historic centre, with its narrow streets, arched houses with small vaults, and the old Palazzo Fanelli.
