The patroness of Filiano is Our Lady of the Rosary, celebrated twice a year: the religious feast falls on 7 October, the civil one on the second Sunday of August. The mother church dedicated to her was built to meet the town's growing population after it gained municipal autonomy, and was opened on 11 September 1960.
An old chapel dedicated to the Madonna del Rosario, whose construction was supported by worshippers who each brought a stone whenever they went to Mass, already stood in the square that still bears its name today; after the new mother church was consecrated in 1960, the chapel passed to the cult of Saint Joseph, whose statue was bought in 1978 at the expense of the municipality and with donations from the faithful.
