The patron of Montebello Jonico is the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the Temple: the liturgical feast falls on 21 November, but the patronal feast is traditionally celebrated on the second Sunday of June, once accompanied by the famous animal fair known as «a fera da Salina». The square in front of it is dedicated to Don Rocco De Franco, the historic parish priest of Saline.
Every 25 March, an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary is carried in procession from the town's mother church to the shrine of the Annunciation, located on the border with Fossato. The town also holds the Church of Santa Maria della Presentazione and the Grotta Lamia cave.
