Carinaro celebrates Saint Euphemia on 16 September, but the festivities already begin on 1 September: more than two weeks of religious rites, shows in the square and contests.

The most heartfelt moment is the “Gara delle mazze”: a public auction in which the highest bidder wins the right to carry the statue of the saint on their shoulders from the square to the church. For the community it is an ancient tradition, a sign of belonging and faith.

Around it come processions and religious services, shows, music, market stalls and fireworks contests, up to the saint's feast day on 16 September.
