The patron saint of Orta di Atella is Saint Maximus of Nola, a bishop and confessor who lived in the 3rd century AD, celebrated on 15 January in the church named after him, which holds works of art and 20th-century paintings.
The municipal territory also holds the Palazzo San Massimo, formerly Palazzo Migliaccio, a 17th-century noble residence restored in 2020, and the Sanctuary of San Salvatore, established in 2000 in the ancient church of San Donato, bishop and martyr. Orta di Atella was the birthplace of the painter Massimo Stanzione, among the leading figures of the 17th-century Neapolitan school of painting.
