Melito di Napoli celebrates Saint Stephen the Protomartyr on the Monday after the second Sunday of October; his statue is kept in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, on the central Piazza Santo Stefano, rebuilt by Giuseppe Astarita between 1766 and 1768.
