The patron saint of Mugnano di Napoli is Saint Blaise of Sebaste, bishop and martyr, celebrated on 3 February in the church dedicated to him, dating from between the 11th and 16th centuries: among the works held inside is a notable Madonna of the Rosary, painted by the celebrated Cilento-born painter Paolo De Matteis.
The municipal territory also holds the church of San Giovanni Battista at Carpignano, dating from the 5th century and the original nucleus around which the hamlet of the same name arose, restored in 1656 and again in 2004. Mugnano was the birthplace of numerous members of the Capece Minutolo family, including the first Prince of Canosa, Fabrizio Capece Minutolo, born on 29 June 1684. Also deeply felt is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, ten days of celebrations enlivened by brass band concerts and fireworks displays.
