The fair of Cannalonga is attested from 1452 and was held on the thirteenth of December, for santa Lucia, outside the village, near a country chapel. Then it kept moving: in the mid-eighteenth century duke Toribio Mogrovejo shifted it to September, in 1885 the comune brought it forward by a week, between 1911 and 1914 it ended up in October, and now it falls on the Saturday before the second Sunday of September. It is called the fair of the Frecagnola.

What was sold there was small livestock — pigs, sheep, goats — and handmade goods, shoes and woollen cloth; boiled goat with potatoes and celery is still eaten. The ducal palace on the square belongs to the Mogrovejo, the family from which san Turibio de Mogrovejo descended: and he is indeed the patron of the village.
