The patron saint of Pagani is Saint Alphonsus Maria de' Liguori, celebrated on 1 August in the basilica dedicated to him.
Also deeply felt by the population is the feast of the Madonna delle Galline, a religious and civic event held every year from the Friday of Easter week to the following Monday, with the religious celebration proper concentrated on the following Sunday: the highlight is the solemn procession of the Marian image through the town's streets, accompanied by the community's collective participation. The town also holds an ancient church dating from the 8th century, once made up of two naves, one used as an oratory and the other as a sacristy, which housed three small shrines dedicated to the Holy Trinity, Saint Joseph and Saint Philomena.
