The feast of Saint Paschal Baylon, patron saint of Stio, established in 1730, is held on 17 May and on the last Sunday of August: the origin of the devotion to the Spanish saint is owed to a friar of the Franciscan convent of Gioi, who with his sermons kindled it in the heart of the archpriest of the time, don Nicola de Matthaeis, who passed it on to the people of Stio.
At the beginning of September the Fiera della Croce (Fair of the Cross) is held, the oldest in the Cilento, born in the Middle Ages when the Basilian monks of the chapel of Santa Maria della Croce drew pilgrims to visit the precious relic of the cross, brought there at the wish of Saint Nilus, but also to trade their products; on 15 June the votive feast of Saint Vitus is celebrated, introduced in 1887 for protection from rabid dogs.
