On top of the hill stands the Ara pacis mundi, inaugurated on 6 May 1951: inside the urn they placed earth taken from more than eight hundred war cemeteries across the world, African and Russian ones included, and phials of sea water gathered where ships went down.

A field near the cemetery is still called cjamp dai turcs: it recalls the raids of 1470 and 1499. Then came the wars between Maximilian of Habsburg and Venice, and the war of Gradisca. Medea was Austrian for more than four hundred years, until November 1918. From 1928 to 1955 it did not exist as a comune: it was a hamlet of Cormons.
