The patron saint of Monfalcone is Our Lady of Health, celebrated on 21 November.
The town's cathedral, dedicated to Saint Ambrose, was raised to the rank of minor basilica in 1940 by Pope Pius XII; damaged by Austro-Hungarian bombing during the First World War, it stands next to the church of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary, rebuilt after the First World War following the destruction of the earlier 16th-century church and restored several times since, most recently in 1985. Among the town's most cherished traditions is also the Cantafestival de la Bisiacaria, dedicated to song in the local Bisiaco dialect.
