The patron of Ovaro is Saint Vigilius, celebrated on 26 June.
In several hamlets of Ovaro the «trai das cidulas» is celebrated, a rite in which the young people of the village throw flaming wooden discs: in Muina on the eve of Epiphany, in Agrons on the eve of Saint Fosca (13 February), in Cella on the eve of Saint Sebastian, in Mione on the eve of Saint Anthony (17 January), in Ovaro, Luincis and Entrampo on the last day of the year. On 31 December the children's begging round also takes place, in Friulian «lâ a sops».
