The patrons of Castel Sant'Elia are Saint Anastasius and co-patron Saint Nonnosus, celebrated together on 3 September.
The town holds the Basilica di Sant'Elia and the Pontifical Shrine of Santa Maria ad Rupes, carved into the rock, as well as the remains of the Castello di Pizzo Iella and Castel d'Ischia.
