Romano di Lombardia

Province: Bergamo · Region: Lombardy · Population: 18,784 · Postal code: 24058

On September 17, 1962, President Antonio Segni signed a decree officially granting Romano di Lombardia the honorary status of a city. Currently home to 18,784 residents, this municipality serves as the administrative center for the eastern plains of the Bergamo province.

Located roughly 20 kilometers southeast of Bergamo and 45 kilometers east of Milan, the town—locally called Romà—also operates as the headquarters for the Serio River Regional Park. The park's administrative presence here makes the settlement a logical starting point for walking the protected riparian corridors of northern Lombardy.
