The patron of Fombio is the Madonna del Carmelo, celebrated on 16 July.
Among the local foods are raspadüra (shaved cheese), tripe, eaten especially during the Fiera di Codogno, and «oss da mort», shortbread biscuits served on All Souls' Day. The town holds the Castello Douglas Scotti, the Church of Santi Pietro, Paolo e Colombano and the Portale della Zecca of the Trivulzio family, and overlooks the Parco del Brembiolo.
