The patron of Acquanegra sul Chiese is Saint Fortunatus, celebrated with the town festival on the third Sunday of October in the Church of San Fortunato.
In the hamlet of Mosio, Giulio Salvadori was born, and resided there until his death, an important figure of Mantuan painting in the second half of the 20th century. The town also holds the Abbey of San Tommaso and overlooks the Le Bine Nature Reserve and the Parco Oglio Sud.
