Magenta celebrates Saint Martin of Tours on 11 November, in the basilica dedicated to him; the town's co-patrons are Saint Roch, on 16 August, Saint Blaise, on 3 February, and Saint Crescentia. On the first Sunday of June the town re-enacts the historic Battle of Magenta of 1859.
