Feast of Saint Michael
📅 Every year, on 29 September
On 29 September Ripalimosani celebrates Saint Michael; the village is also known for the Palio delle Quercigliole, a horse race in honour of Our Lady of the Snows dating back to 1588.
In the mother church there is a full-size copy of the Shroud: one of the first ever made, more than four centuries ago.
The bell tower is already recorded in 1463, and at its foot are reused carvings in which people recognise Adam, Eve and the devil. Inside, the sixteenth-century pulpit rests on an eagle holding the town's arms, and before the choir stands an organ of 1778; the chestnut door, with the Madonna and two kneeling angels in the lunette, was carved by Domenico Petrone in 1932. The town of 2,972 residents appears as Ripae in a parchment of 1039.
