Frugarolo celebrates Saint Felix of Rome on 29 July, in the parish dedicated to him.
On the Alessandria plain, by the right bank of the Orba, the village answers to four names: Fruareu in Piedmontese, Fijarö in local speech, Friaró in Alessandria, Friarö in the Fraschetta. The parish church of San Felice, Romanesque with Gothic grafts and a later staircase, was rebuilt after its bell tower and part of the fabric came down in 1980.
In the tower of the Torre San Pio V estate, between Frugarolo and Casal Cermelli, late fourteenth-century frescoes of the Arthurian cycle came to light; detached from the walls, they now hang in the museum of the former military hospital in Alessandria.
