The patron of Montaldo Bormida is San Michele Arcangelo, celebrated on the first Sunday of September.
The municipality also holds the Chiesa di Nostra Signora del Carmine, the Parco Dotto and the Fonte Pagnasa. Every year between the end of August and the beginning of September the traditional Sagra dello Stoccafisso (stockfish festival) is held, which lately has moved to the Palavino Palagusto venue; in 2008 the new Enoteca Comunale (municipal wine shop) was completed. In open countryside stands a small chapel dedicated to San Michele, now in ruins.
