Feast of Saint Firminus of Uzès
📅 Every year, on 11 October
On 11 October Cellarengo celebrates its patron Saint Firminus of Uzès, to whom a chapel in the town is also dedicated.
Cellarengo is a small comune in the province of Asti; in Piedmontese it is called Slarengh. Little of its past was written down, and that little ended up in the coat of arms, where three figures say who gave the orders and what people lived on.
The cross recalls the authority the bishop of Asti held over the village, granted by an imperial diploma. The ox stands for the cattle farms. The ears of wheat are the main crop here. Three signs only, but enough to tell how it went.
