The patroness of Villafranca d'Asti is Saint Helena, celebrated on 18 August in the Church of Sant'Elena.
The first weekend of September brings the «Vininvilla», Wine and Bagna Freida Festival: an oenological competition and market of DOC and DOCG wines from the Asti area selected by ONAV, with fairground rides and the Charity Stall run by the former students of the Opera Pia Sant'Elena. Throughout September and the last weekends of August, festivals and events organised by various associations and hamlets enliven the town. The municipal territory also holds the Chapel of the Beato Amedeo and the church of the Madonna della Neve.
