Dusino San Michele

Province: Asti · Region: Piedmont · Population: 1,044 · Postal code: 14010

Dusino San Michele is a village in the province of Asti, and what little fame it has comes from one spot on the regional road 10 that crosses it: kilometre 41, which Giorgio Faletti sang about at the Sanremo festival in 1994 in the song «Signor tenente».

Along that stretch you can still come across the carabinieri patrol cars from the Villanova d'Asti company, parked for road checks. On the morning of 21 April 2017 a patrol averted there, at the risk of their lives, what could have become a road disaster; the comune later made the two soldiers honorary citizens.
