Camerana lies in the Alta Langa, between the Bormida and Uzzone valleys. Its land climbs from 350 to 777 metres, four hundred and twenty-seven metres of difference, and rather than one village it is a string of clusters on the slopes: Contrada, Gabutti, Costabella San Rocco, Isole, Gaudini, Bormida, Campolungo, Carro, Costa Soprana, Pasiotti and Novelli.
Eleven hamlets, and the churches scatter the same way: the parish church of Sant'Antonio abate, the Santissima Annunziata and San Paolo, plus one at Gabutti and one at Novelli. There is no single centre, only settlements strung along the hillsides.
