Montelupo Albese

Province: Cuneo · Region: Piedmont · Population: 531 · Postal code: 12050

Montelupo Albese is a small comune in the province of Cuneo; in Piedmontese the name shortens to Montluv, and the people here are montelupesi. The coat of arms draws what the name says: on a blue field a black wolf howls, tail raised and eye red, as it walks over a golden hill, with three golden eight-rayed stars above.

The church of Maria Vergine Assunta closes the square with a facade of bare brick, gabled in the middle and joined at the sides by two broad scrolls; a white stucco cartouche stands out above the dark doorway, and the brick bell tower shows its bell in the arched chamber.
