Feast of San Frontiniano and Maria Santissima Assunta
📅 Every year, on 15 August
On 15 August Sinio, a municipality of 516 inhabitants in the province of Cuneo, celebrates its patrons San Frontiniano and Maria Santissima Assunta.
Sinio lies in the Langhe, about fifteen kilometres from Alba; in Piedmontese the name is Sin-i. Vineyards ring it on all sides, and the medieval centre has a curious plan: that of a heraldic shield. The three main streets begin at the top, by the castle, and narrow as they descend until they almost meet at a point.
The town's own shield is divided into two halves: on the green side a slim wavy blue band between two silver bezants; on the other, five red bends on gold. Above, on the blue chief, the word SINEUM runs in gold capitals; the gonfalon is a white cloth.
