Murazzano stands high over the Langhe, and the position earned it the name of shield and key of Piedmont. The medieval tower still stands above the houses, with its lawn and a lookout over the hills; lower down is the ricetto, the fortified enclosure of the village.
Then the parish church of San Lorenzo, the Palazzo Tovegni and the sanctuary of the Beata Vergine di Hal. The town gives its name to a soft cheese with protected origin status, and it turns up in Il partigiano Johnny, the novel by Beppe Fenoglio.
