Niella Belbo

Province: Cuneo · Region: Piedmont · Population: 401 · Postal code: 12050

Niella Belbo is a village of the Alta Langa, in the province of Cuneo; in Piedmontese, La Niela an Belb. Its coat of arms carries no figure, only a single red Gothic N on a gold field. The medieval tower is all that is left of the castle, and the arch called dei francesi was the village gate.

The sanctuary of the Madonna dei Monti was built between 1710 and 1750, to a design attributed to the architect Francesco Gallo. It is bare stone throughout, and its bell tower rises far above the roof, with the tall round-headed windows of the belfry. Nearby stands a monumental cross of 1900, dedicated to Christ the Redeemer.
