The patron saints of Fasano are Saint John the Baptist and Saint Mary of Pozzo Faceto, celebrated on the third Sunday of June with the Festa dei Santi Patroni. The cult of the Madonna di Pozzo Faceto is rooted in an old local legend, passed down from generation to generation among the town's inhabitants.
Every year, on the occasion of the patronal feast, a glorious moment from the town's past is commemorated with La Scamiciata, a historical re-enactment that enlivens the streets of Fasano. The town also holds a rich confectionery tradition: pettole, served hot with sugar, cooked wine or honey, take centre stage on 7 December, for the eve of the Immaculate Conception, a deeply felt feast in Fasano, and again on 24 December, together with cartellate, pastry sweets dressed with honey or vincotto.
