The celebrations for Saint Oronzo, protector of Ostuni, last four days, from 24 to 27 August. What sets them apart from every other Apulian patronal feast is the Cavalcata di Sant'Oronzo, originally the Cavalcade of the Devout: a procession of horses and riders in full caparison, crossing the white of the old town.
The co-patron is Saint Blaise, bishop and martyr, celebrated on 3 February: on that day the people of Ostuni climb in numbers to the hills, where the crypt dedicated to him opens in the rock.
