The patron of Candela is Saint Roch, celebrated from 16 to 18 August in the Church of San Rocco, with religious celebrations and musical events.
In mid-May the town also hosts the Rally Puglia & Lucania, a motor race counting toward the Central European Championship and the Italian Rally Terra and Cross Country Championships. The town holds Palazzo Doria and the Church of the Beata Vergine Maria, known as the Chiesa Madre.
