The patron saint of Torremaggiore is Saint Sabinus, celebrated on the first Sunday of June.
The town also venerates the Madonna della Fontana, patroness of the parish of the same name: the festivities are held on the Tuesday and Wednesday after Easter. Originally a rural festival held on Easter Monday, it took on civic overtones, and in the 1940s the procession was moved to the Tuesday after Easter, while in the 1990s a second procession on the Wednesday was established. Since the early 20th century, the feast has also featured fireworks. The town also holds the Convent of San Matteo and the remains of Castel Fiorentino.
