The patron saint of San Cesario di Lecce is Saint Cesarius, deacon and martyr, celebrated on the fourth Sunday of July with the feast known in dialect as «San Cisariu ranne».
This day commemorates the translation of the relic of Saint Cesarius's arm from the Ducal Palace to the Chiesa Madre di Santa Maria delle Grazie. On 7 November, instead, the feast of the saint's liturgical solemnity is held, known as «San Cisariu de lu fiuru»: during the procession, «lu fiuru», an iron cross decorated with flowers and lights, is placed in the saint's hands. The town also holds the Palazzo Ducale and the Church of Sant'Elia.
