At Tadasuni, in the Guilcer, the parish house held for almost forty years the museum of Sardinian folk-music instruments: they had been collected by the parish priest Giovanni Dore, a scholar of the island's musical traditions, and the collection stayed here from the nineteen-seventies until 2009. The Sardinian spoken in the village is the limba de mesania, the transitional speech between the island's two great varieties.
In 1416, after the Aragonese conquest, the fief of the whole district was given to Valore di Ligia, a man of Arborea who had betrayed his own judge: when he and his son came to take possession, the inhabitants killed them at Zuri along with their escort. When the lords who followed died out, in 1726 the fief passed to the crown lands of the kingdom and for a time was administered by officials rather than feudal lords. The redemption came in 1839.
