Emigration to western New York shaped the modern identity of Vallelunga Pratameno. In the early 20th century, hundreds of residents moved to Buffalo and Batavia, establishing local societies honoring Our Lady of Loreto, the town's patron saint, at St. Anthony of Padua Church.
Home to 3,641 inhabitants in the province of Caltanissetta, this Sicilian municipality still celebrates its patronal feast every year on the fourth Sunday of September. It sits roughly 60 kilometers southeast of Palermo.
