The patron saint of Piraino is Saint Joseph, celebrated on the first Tuesday after Easter.
The town holds two old watchtowers, the Saracen Tower and the Tower of the Ciavole, and in the historic centre stand the mother church of Santa Maria, the church of San Michele Arcangelo and the church of the Madonna del Rosario. Among the town's most deeply felt religious traditions is also that of the Most Holy Ecce Homo, carried in procession on Good Friday and celebrated again with its own feast on the second Sunday of October; on 16 August the feast of Saint Roch is also celebrated.
