The patroness of Santa Teresa di Riva is Our Lady of Mount Carmel, celebrated on 16 July: it is the town's oldest local tradition, dating back to the 18th century. On the occasion of the patronal feast, the statue of Santa Maria del Carmelo is carried in procession through the town's streets, kept throughout the year in the sanctuary dedicated to her.
The town also preserves traces of its defensive past in the Torre Catalmo and the Saracen tower, as well as several other churches such as those of Santa Maria di Porto Salvo, the Holy Family and San Vito.
