🎉 Patron saint festival

Feast of Saint Castrensis

📍 Monreale · Palermo · Sicily

On 11 February Monreale celebrates Saint Castrensis, its patron, in the church that carries his name — a different address from the cathedral the town is known for.

The patron of Monreale is Saint Castrensis and his day falls on 11 February. A church of his own is dedicated to him, not to be confused with the Norman cathedral for which the town is famous worldwide.

It is the townspeople's feast, in a month when the tour coaches thin out and the town returns to itself.
