The patroness of Cavareno is Saint Mary Magdalene (santa Maria Maddalena), celebrated on 22 July; the church of Santa Maria Maddalena, which dates from the 19th century, is the village's patronal parish church.
On the first weekend of August the Festa della Charta della Regola is held: Cavareno turns into a medieval village, craft and farm work take over picturesque corners, courtyards, alleys and threshing floors, and the whole population becomes an actor in its own history. The religious ceremonies also rediscover the past: Sunday Mass finds Gregorian chant again and the procession of the vow parades in costume.
