In 1737 marquis Carlo Ginori planted his porcelain manufactory here: for nearly three centuries Sesto Fiorentino and Richard-Ginori — today Ginori 1735 — have been synonyms, and the Ginori Museum keeps one of Europe's most important porcelain collections. The other inheritance is Etruscan: the monumental domed tombs of La Montagnola and La Mula are among Etruria's best preserved.
