The patrons of Cesiomaggiore are Saint Juliana and Saint Agapitus, celebrated on 16 February.
In 1404, Cesio joined the Republic of Venice together with Feltre: on 15 June of that year, the ceremony handing the city's keys to the Venetian ambassador Bartolomeo Nani was carried out by Vittore Muffoni, himself a native of Cesio. The town also holds the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore and the Church of Sant'Agapito, as well as the Ethnographic Museum of the Dolomites.
