The patron of Montagnana is the Assumption of Mary, celebrated on 15 August in the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta.
Since 1977, reviving a tradition dating back to the Middle Ages, the Palio of the 10 Towns of the Montagnana area has been run every year in the moat of the Rocca degli Alberi, with costumed reenactment of medieval and Renaissance figures. In May, the Sweet Cured Ham Festival of Montagnana is held, while «Montagnanese in Fiera» is held in early April and early October. The town also holds Villa Pisani and Porta XX Settembre.
