Oderzo

Province: Treviso · Region: Veneto · Population: 20,068 · Postal code: 31046

Operating as the notable municipium of Opitergium, this settlement reached its maximum splendor during the first century. The modern town center is still scattered with archaeological ruins that reveal its history as a major crossroads of the Roman Empire, an era that built upon far older Paleovenetian roots.

Currently home to just over 20,000 residents, Oderzo has evolved into a practical agricultural and industrial center in the Sinistra Piave district. The Monticano river intersects the streets before joining the Livenza, firmly placing the community in the Venetian plain about 66 kilometers northeast of Venice.
