The patron saint of Ayas is Saint Martin of Tours, celebrated on 11 November. The church dedicated to him stands in the hamlet of Antagnod, an interesting religious building with a bulb-shaped bell tower overlooking the square named after the parish priest François-Marie Dandrès, who wanted it enlarged: the church seen today, entirely frescoed inside, houses several works of sacred art, including the high altar, all that remains of the earlier structure.
During the 20th century, Ayas's parish was divided, giving rise to the parishes of Antagnod and Champoluc: in the latter hamlet, the church of Sant'Anna, today used as a cinema, was once the village's main place of worship, built as a chapel in 1715 and rebuilt in its current form in 1836, again at the wish of parish priest Dandrès, and preserves above its 19th-century doorway a circular fresco depicting Saint Anne teaching the Holy Scriptures to Mary.
