The patroness of Valsavarenche is Our Lady of Mount Carmel, celebrated on 16 July in the church of the Madonna del Carmine.
The entire municipal territory is part of the Gran Paradiso National Park, of great faunistic, naturalistic and orographic interest. In the main village, Dégioz, next to the town hall, stands the park's visitor centre, with the Wolf Space and the Lynx Museum, and the Maison de la Montagne, which houses the mountain-themed library.
