Breuil-Cervinia grew up as a ski resort, and its parish church is exactly as old as you would expect: it was built in 1955, when the village at the foot of the Matterhorn, spread between 2,005 and 2,200 metres, was becoming what it is today.
What to see
Inside are two wooden bas-reliefs from the Beato Angelico school of Milan: a Madonna and Child and a Saint Bernard, patron of mountaineers and of those who live in the mountains. They are what makes the stop worthwhile, and the dedication to Saint Bernard tells you on its own where you are standing.

It is not an old church and does not pretend to be: five minutes inside, perhaps while waiting for the lifts to open. Anyone after a parish church with centuries behind it should go down to Valtournenche, where the church of Sant'Antonio Abate goes back to the fifteenth century.
