On 2 July Nemoli, a municipality of 1,512 inhabitants in the province of Potenza, celebrates its patroness the Madonna delle Grazie.

The town was called Bosco. In 1828 the Bourbons razed another Bosco, the one in the Cilento, which had risen against them, and from then on the name began to weigh: when the people of Bosco asked to break away from Rivello, they asked to change it too, so as not to be confused with a town burnt to the ground.
Among the names proposed, Nemoli went through, from the Latin nemus olim, once a wood. Ferdinando II signed the decree on 8 December 1833 and the comune came into being on 1 January 1834; its own parish arrived only in 1938. In 1650 a group of Waldensians driven out of Calabria had settled here, and a Gallo-Italic dialect is still spoken in Nemoli. There are 1,512 residents.
